About this design:
The Northern Lights are one of the most awe-inspiring natural phenomenons that many of us would be lucky to witness at least once in a lifetime. Look to the skies and create a surface design representative of Aurora Borealis. It can be abstract and watercolor to geometric; think outside the box and flex your creativity on this one. Entries will be previewed on a 21" x 18" FQ and should repeat.

To celebrate the arrival of cozy season, we’re offering loungewear / athleisure patterns from our sister brand Sprout Patterns as prizes for the top 3 winners of each week’s challenge!
One popularly voted grand-prize winner will receive a pair of Sloan Leggings sewn with white glove service from Sprout Patterns. In addition, the grand-prize winner will receive $200 in Spoonflower credit. The 2nd place winner will receive a pair of Sloan Leggings from Sprout Patterns, along with $100 in Spoonflower credit. 3rd place will receive a pair of Sloan Leggings from Sprout Patterns, along with a $50 Spoonflower credit. The rest of the top 10 winners will receive $20 in Spoonflower credit. The top 25 popularly voted designs (provided the designers are already verified sellers) will be automatically made available for sale in the Marketplace where they will receive 10% commission on every sale — no $5.00 swatch required! In addition to cash prizes, the top 10 will receive additional exposure in our email newsletters, professional photography of their printed designs, and social media mentions.

- Designs will be viewed as a Fabric on the voting ballot. Acceptable repeat options for this challenge are Basic, Half-Drop, Half-Brick, Mirror, Center.
- Designs previously uploaded on Spoonflower.com are not eligible for this contest. Designs do not require printed proofing to enter the contest.
- The popular vote determines the top 10 winning designs. Voters include Spoonflower artists and customers as well as the public.
