    design description

    This hungry fellow is a locust. I found him in the book Illustrated Wonders of the World which was published somewhere between the late 1870's and mid 1880's by the J. A. Ruth & Company of Chicago. (There is no actual copyright date given in the book but it is pretty easy to date these things when you have them in your hands and have seen other books of the same time that do have printed dates). I liked him graphically, but I was also kind of impressed that we are talking about an 130 year old drawing. This one really, really old bug.
