Cean Irminger -- the designer from Machipongo, Virginia who has won four previous Fabric Of the Week contests -- has now won her fifth challenge, which ties her once again with Spoonflower's other textile design dynamo, SammyK. Cean's border print, titled 'The Firebird (A Russian Folk Tale)' came out on top this week, and the word around the Spoonflower office is that it is would make a fine pair of yoga pants. Way to go, Cean! Read more about Check Out the Border Print Contest Winner & Fabric of the Week Co-Queen.
This week, designers should use hand-lettering to write a New Year's resolution. Additional design elements are welcome, but the design must have text that has a hand-lettered appearance, and describes a resolution. Previews will be shown at the fat quarter fabric size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 31st, 2013 (yes, that's New Year's Eve!).
It may be the middle of winter, but we're already quilting for spring! This week, we're asking contestants to create a cheater quilt block with a spring floral theme. Cheater quilt blocks feature fabric designed and printed to look like patchwork or applique so that you can skip the piecework and go straight for quilting. All designs submitted must use a restricted palette (visible here, and white) and previews will be shown at (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is January 7th, 2014.
Instructions and rules for our weekly fabric design contests appear on our upcoming contests page .
