Mita is the nickname for my Guela, which is slang for Grandmother in Puerto Rico, I named this Ditsy print after her because in the 34 {ehem} years I'va known her, she has always worn the same type of dress, with the same type of prints {ditsy prints}. She has always preferred darker colors, so I thought this print would fit well into my new Inverness collection, with charcoal background and hints of blues and greys, the flowers are very retro and have lots of detail, this is a very similar print to my large scale Inverness Flowers. Mita is now 84, she unfortunately has Dementia, and does not recognize me as her Grandchild, she does know ME, just does not realize I'm related to her, however, her "style" and her "look" does not change, she might forget certain things, but she does not forget what she likes, I know she would love a dress in this fabric. Might make her one! Anyway, I hope you like it, I'm also thinking about making it in another palette, lighter grey with yellows and oranges!, wouldn't that be nice for the Autumn? When I have time I'm sure I will :) 2012 Update: Mita passed away this spring, she did so very peacefully, and I know that now that she is in a much better place, free of the dementia, she is looking at this print with lots of pride! I never did get around to making her a dress, but I know she would have loved it! :)

ttoz says: What a lovely story and such a beautifully detailed print! I'm sure your grandmother would be very proud of 'her' print!

natitys says: Thank you ladies, and sorry for the late response! @ Patty, yes, I am thinking about doing that! She's been so "picky" these last few months I'm not sure she will be open to a "new" dress :) but definitely worth a shot :)
