Description:

Rows of knitters, side by side.

If I go and sit in a coffee shop or a concert or on an airplane with my book or smart phone, people pretty much ignore me. But if I sit and knit in the those same places, I always have a conversation with someone I have never met before. It's like knowing a secret handshake. Someone will ask what I am knitting. Another knitter will ask about the yarn. Someone will comment "my mom does that." A little kid will ask what I am doing or will watch with big eyes. I've taught knitters, I have learned from knitters and I have shared moments with knitters that don't speak the same language I do. If you look carefully in this print, you will see all kinds of knitters. There are straight needles, circulars and DPNs. There are hairstyles and hijabs in the silhouettes. You might even recognize a certain Princess.
