Description:

A larger version of my contest entry.

One could argue all day long about whether "Bedazzled" on the whole was a funny movie, but one cannot argue that perhaps the scene featuring the granting of Wish Number 3 is a keeper. Stanley (played by the late great Dudley Moore) wishes to be a rock star. Maybe Margaret will love him then. She does until George Spiggott (played by the late great Peter Cook) appears as Drimble Wedge with his band the Vegetations, singing in monotones about the inertia of life. This design, with its tamped down, controlled colors, is an expression of the rock song Spiggott sung. An antithesis of what one usually thinks of as rock and roll, but part of rock and roll nonetheless. :-) The geometric shapes, with shades at 100 percent echoed by 50 percent, demonstrates the antiphonal texture often used in rock and roll. For example, Drimble Wedge sings the main lines with the Vegetations providing the echo (or back up.) Happy New Year!!
