Description:

That old seventies color, snake vomit green (which they called avocado in the day) rears its khaki essence in a garden of confusedly twisted vines, spiky leaves, and ripe sunflower heads that have spilled their spots of seed all along the ground.
It is hard to decide what stage of a sunflower's life is the best one. Sure the perky yellow flower, especially when it is 12 inches across, is a dramatically kindergarten-esque delight.
But when the flower dries up and the heavy center goes to seed, there is nothing else like a sunflower. The way those seeds are packed into the head; the way they ultimately scatter on the ground and attract birds; is very special and rarely depicted in art. So this is a tribute to the last stage of sunflower life, when everything is dried and brownish green, and dormant.
