from an original oil painting by designer. This depicts a dance party I threw back in 1994, while living in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. What better way to celebrate international women's day?

susaninparis says: Thanks Materialsgirl! As I mentioned below, I have to find another photo or negative, as what I have is so tiny! I would like to make it available in my society6 or zazzle stores eventually.

susaninparis says: Thanks Feebeedee! I have the painting in storage far away, but I am looking for other photos of the painting and/or negatives, as the photo that I used for this cannot go larger. Hopefully I will be able to enlarge the design with a new image soon. Susan

feebeedee says: Brilliant! Gorgeous. Full of life. Wish I was there. Larger version, please. Say, the image as an 8x10? Or 11x14?

materialsgirl says: Add me to your growing list of admirers of this piece. It really does draw me into the room as though I'd been invited to the party. Wonderful colors, movement, energy, composition... Have you also applied this to readymade wearable things in your various store venues? I'm thinking t-shirts or tunics, skirts..or just as art, wrapped canvas wall hangings?. I'm not a sewer...can you tell? I'll bet you've got a collection for each place you've lived around the world.

su_g says: Susan this looks fabulous in yardage! It has an almost pleated look - certainly dimensional - while the red dress is such a point of focus and red dress's arm shooting up to the left, again and again, provides a great counter balance. I can see this in shirts and a kimono jacket with a matching red border...

fireflower says: The painting has a lot of wonderful energy ... I can almost hear the music and feel the heat ... and I like the way the eye moves from red to red to red around the space. But, I also like the way the colors & shapes of the painting evolve into a patterned stripe in the yardage view of the fabric.

susaninparis says: Thanks ottomanbrim! Wish I had it with me so I could reshoot a photo and enlarge it properly. Maybe I'll still find a photo in all my papers!
