Hi! I live in the Pacific Northwest (near Seattle, WA) and enjoy art and design of all kinds. I create costumes and clothing, sew, make jewelry, paint, draw, create block prints, etc; and have always wanted to be a fabric designer. Spoonflower rocks!!

From a hand-drawn monoprint by my husband Jim, which I inverted in Photoshop. We ordered a swatch and I think it prints a bit fainter and more subtle than it looks on the screen. Unless faint and subtle is what you're going for, you might want to order the "inverted, brighter" version of this design.

jessica_chavez30 says: Hi Jenithea, So sorry for the late response! I ordered it in the cotton knit. It's quite pretty after it's been made into a dress. I just expected something closer to black but now I know to be careful with the cotton knit fabric if I'm ordering something that looks black. Thank you!!

jenithea says: Hi, Jessica - what fabric did you order it on? If you get it on the cotton knit, which is ivory colored, it will probably look brown. The artwork I uploaded is definitely black, but the way Spoonflower prints on fabric doesn't produce a saturated black. It's more of a dark gray. Unfortunately they've told me that's just a reality of their printing process and there's nothing I can do to change it. And if they print on an ivory-colored fabric, the end result will look different than the art I uploaded. For example I ordered a red fabric printed on the ivory cotton knit, and what I received looked orangey rather than true red.

jessica_chavez30 says: While the print is quite pretty, the fabric I received is not black. It's brown which is dissapointing for me because I don't wear brown.
