rhondadesigns says: This is a marvelous, beautifully arranged and well-balanced geometric design. You have really excelled with the transparent layering of this pattern, Deborah!

anniedeb says: Yes, and I did a rug using one of my designs from my Belted collection and you are right, you get what you pay for. You had told me about FLOR -- that's the one I couldn't remember. It's a cool site . . . so many possibilities and so little time!

materialsgirl says: That site I mentioned was CafePress that allows you to print your own rugs. However the quality is lacking....you get what you pay for. When I see your modern designs I'm thinking about companies like FLOR who sells the modular carpet squares that are woven and good quality. I'm hoping DIY manufacturing will eventually provide the opportunity for us to work with this quality of materials but it may require more specialized design skills to design/program so as to create a woven material versus to do just a printed (on one side) type of thing.

anniedeb says: So do I, Cal -- creating carpet/rug designs. After you mentioned that web site that let's you design your own carpet squares, I visited it -- of course, now I can't remember the name of the site -- still, it's so cool now that people are able to design exactly what we want without having to shop stores searching for something "close to" what we want. Thanks so much for taking a look at the design and for your comments. I appreciate it.

materialsgirl says: Loving these modern designs with delicious textures! Wish we also had the option of creating carpet/rug designs. This would look so beautiful on the floor of a mid-century modern home...also lovely upholstery, curtains, etc. !
