su_g says: My pleasure Helen - it was fun to make because your fabric design is so cheerful & I'm really looking forward to wearing it as I just know it will be admired because of the fabric - so thanks for sharing that!

glimmericks says: The first thing I thougt was "SALT!" - then I read the comments and saw that was your technique. I once tried using ocean water - bad move - even though I rinsed well my camelhair brushes disintegrated a month later.

su_g says: Wrap-around skirt designed by Su G made up in cotton-linen with matching blue linen tie made from a remnant. The-cotton linen is stiff enough to keep the skirt a flattering A-line. This design says 'holidays' to me!

helenkl...

helenklebesadel says: Thanks! Yes I did sprinkle salt on the painting at just the right point to get the best effect. Not too wet. Not too dry. Its one of those times when watching paint dry really makes sense.

weedesigns

weedesigns says: Whoops - should have read the description first - lol! Okay then, my next question is did you sprinkle salt on this painting ? That's what the background effect reminds me of - how appropriate for a design with boats :)

weedesigns says: I really like the background on this - did you scan from a watercolour painting?
