sef

sef says: The "kissing" chevrons are interesting in appearing to have double-mirror symmetry (and hint at becoming butterflies box-kites or X-wing fighters) which isn't in fact supported by either the underlying pattern or the conflicting sets of them.

fireflower says: Well, the coloring may destroy the symmetry, but it introduces pattern overlays in the form of wavy stripes of the various colors crossing at 60 degrees to each other, and pairs of "kissing" chevrons, which create a second set of criss-crossing rows. I think it's quite a fun and interesting version of the whirling chevrons.
