I first encountered succulents when I moved to California for college. Instead of the grass I had known in the mid Atlantic states for my entire life, they had a lawn of magenta flowering ice plants. I was in love with the rubbery fingers and color. Better yet, they grew year round. There was no brown and gray winter lawn. When Spoonflower announced their new contest theme of succulents, I was transported back to being that teenager who had just stepped off the plane and found a world of mountains and tumbleweeds, yucca, and flowering ground covers. In my case it is the size I personally wanted for my eight inch proof of the design. Because this is custom printing designs can be made in any (technically possible and reasonable looking) size. You can even order the same design in two sizes, such as a yard of big and a yard of small, to use together. This does take communication and co-ordination with the artist. But do not think that the scale you see on the screen is the only way the design comes. If you need tiny and the design is big, or the reverse, you can buy a design you like that way.
