In 1936 Shirley Temple played a very non-Chinese child with the bizarre pseudo-Asian name of Ching-Ching, in the movie "Stowaway."
These pointed vertical stripes remind me of the Asian inspired incense burners that are made to look like pagoda towers.
In the movie Ching-Ching doesn't have a house. She strangely "lives" on a cruise ship where her mission is to play matchmaker to two specific adults. (Like that would happen in real life--don't all couples marry due to intervention of six year old girls)?
