Hi Su. Thanks for responding. I'm not sure if 'muted' is the word I'd use. Like other soft fabrics its details are not as sharp or crisp as a tighter weave which makes it a bit lighter too. Or at least that's how I'd describe the difference. It's more mellow like a soft focus lens. Just semantics I guess.

Thanks for showing this swatch on the newest fabric, the cotton spandex jersey Cal, would you say that it prints more muted as has been described for this fabric type? Lovely design too!
Shown in cotton spandex jersey (daylight). Much of the finer background detail gets lost in this fabric (as opposed to the other cottons) but the patterning still comes through in subtle tonal values that lends some sense of texture and depth.
