This design ⇑ (http://www.spoonflower.com/designs/4658435) is of standard 36-spoke bicycle wheels, with the usual triple-cross linkage, reduced to silhouette form. The template was constructed to scale (from my own bicycle) and then carefully oriented and positioned for p3m1 plane symmetry. Currently displaying a 3-layer version in shades of blue jade green. Other colours, stylings, sizes and orientations are available on request and you can even ask for a custom mixture of designs.
