I took photos of this gourd (Acorn Squash) and then worked on the main image to give it a colourful, textured look. I built up layers in photoshop using different effects and filters, I also inserted some photos I had of stained glass panels into parts of the gourd. I thought a black and white gourd would be a nice contrast to the main image and I then worked over the top with brushes to give a hand drawn look.
