curtains and valance, or a bordered dress.
Designed to go with a school project for a costume history class; making fashion drawings of designs inspired by the past. I chose to do Regency-inspired dress designs. And (definitely not required for the class) I had to make fabric designs to inspire the dress designs, of course... ___ This is a simple-seeming double-bordered fabric, with a white embroidery and applique style border. I think it would be great for an Empire/Regency style dress with an Empire-waist, straight-cut, but with fullness in back, like the patterns from sensibility.com, and the costumes in the movie of Sense & Sensibility from 1996.___ I have made the lighter green *applique* just a little darker than in the swatch I just got, to increase contrast with the white *embroidery* lines.___ This one is based on a copper batik stamp I just got. Other versions coming, including one with white floral sprigs in the background. And some that looks like gold or copper embroidery __http://www.spoonflower.com/designs/3080788__, and batik versions with violets and purples on the greens. ___http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/2938947___ http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/2916385___ http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/2938933___ If you want the double borders on a different width, (like 56 inches for the organic cotton knit or sateen) or single horizontal borders, closer, for sleeves or ruffles, let me know.
