bluevelvet says: As for the texture of the image it is a subtle difference, I have been purchasing cotton sateen and love the new performance knit, but the ultra looks closest to the creamy coffee color of your design on my computer screen

anniedeb says: Thanks for taking a look, Penny. What do you think about the texture of the ultra? There is a subtle difference. I like the intensity of the Ultra but I'm still on the fence about it.

bluevelvet

bluevelvet says: Nice shade Deborah, I do agree that the basic is nowhere near as nice as the ultra

anniedeb says: Janiece, I think some people like the basic combed cotton -- the less intense colors. There is quite a noticeable difference between the basic and the Ultra. I guess a good compromise would be to offer them both. I know the Ultra has more of a "Wow" factor going for it. Appreciate your taking a look.

anniedeb says: PS Su, something else to think about is how the swatches are photographed. Sometimes it's too cold to work over in Summersgaze so I take pictures in my living room. Lighting is different. Another variable is the device on which the design is viewed, i.e., tablet, smartphone, desktop, laptop -- so many variables. That is also why I've started putting on my designs that ordering a swatch of the design in the desired fabric is a good idea especially if the purchaser has a big project in mind.

whimzwhirled says: Hopefully they are planning to get rid of the basic and change it up for the ultra. The quality difference is quite noticeable.

anniedeb

anniedeb says: Yes, the color was chosen from the Spoonflower color chart. The basic cotton Ultra seems to have more saturation. Maybe Spoonflower has already mentioned it, but if and when Spoonflower takes basic cotton Ultra public, it needs to emphasize the quite noticeable difference between the design printed on basic combed cotton and the basic cotton Ultra. The difference is pronounced. Perhaps I should make a note on my design page but that would lead to even more info to read.

su_g says: Wow Deborah - that is quite a dramatic difference in color printed on the two different fabric types... I think I would be quite irritated if I got 'cream' when I ordered 'creamy coffee'... was this a color chosen off the Spoonflower color charts?
