anniedeb says: Mare, thanks so much. Yes, Elizabeth had a great idea. The first fabric I had with this design, I made a summer dress for my granddaughter -- very simple with ties at the top. Thanks so much for taking a look. :-)

bluechair

bluechair says: Oh MY! This would make an amazing skirt! Just cut a hole in the middle for the waist, a slit with a zipper and then an irregular hem to follow to petal. How lovely it would be!

anniedeb says: Thanks, Amy. I'm happy I took photos last year of the hollyhocks because it doesn't look like there will be any growing this year. Between the chickens, heat and lack of rain, the hollyhocks have given up! Can't say I blame them. Thanks so much for taking a look.

anniedeb says: Thanks for taking a look, Su. I can see this design as a shift -- the ones that were popular in the 60s -- one giant blossom! :-) Appreciate your comments.

su_g

su_g says: Enormous fun as a dress! I guess that is nearly a pun - for these 'Hollyhocks on a grand scale'...) I like the way you have it arranged on the dressmaker's dummy, it really suits that in-filled 'V'.

su_g

su_g says: It looks fantastic printed! Sometimes I think a design loos better (or has mroe appeal?) printed than in the design image and I think this is one of them, I am so impressed!

Posted almost 4 years ago.

anniedeb

anniedeb says: Still thinking, Cal. I wish I was a better seamstress. It would take more than 1 yard, but I think this would look nice in a 60s style shift out of the linen-cotton canvas or perhaps a maxi skirt . . . or a comforter or a shower curtain. :-) It will be fun coming up with something. Your idea of a wall hanging is also appealing. Also, I like this in the wallpaper. Thank you for taking a look.
