Peony: The Queen of Flowers, the peony is an emblem of wealth and distinction in Chinese art. It is also very popular at weddings. Peony flowers do not last very long. I have often only got to them just before they drop all of their petals but I think that blowsy, voluptuous and almost-fading beauty is when they are at their most beautiful.
