I drew this while looking through a catalog of 1890's pocket watch cases. They were very romantic with flying birds, clusters of flowers, ribbons, and wind-blown leaves. I threw those images into my own mental Cuisinart, and this small scale romantic floral was the result. Between the bouquets of daisies and interlacing ribbons in this design is a yellow bird. He is in the same position as one from a watch case, but that bird was gold plated. This fellow is bright yellow. (file k94g2)
