About the Design

Fabric design with golden leaves as seen in the 'Phoenix' portrait of Queen Elizabeth I. with a

white background.

Fabric design with golden leaves as seen in the 'Phoenix' portrait of Queen Elizabeth I.; but instead of the original black background (which I offer here (http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/596986)), this one has a light cream background. Even the size of the leaves should be correct (but that, of course, also depends on your body size!) - I calculated it from the five leaves that run down her arm in the portrait. If you plan to use it for a dress, I do recommend to glue or sew half pearls in between the cordings as seen in the portrait, to add depth to the fabric; but then again, that requires a LOT of pearls. I do recommend ordering this fabric in either the cotton silk (for a more shiny, satin-like look) or in cotton sateen (for a not-so-shiny look). If you were always wondering how different colors print on the various fabrics that Spoonflower offers, please do have a look at my website where I have quite a few comprehensive photos of color swatches printed on various fabrics!
