About the Design

Meandering leopard fur and lace / satin ribbons - Marie Antoinette would have loved this!

Leopards 'n' Lace - Marie Antoinette would have loved this! (But then again, so would every modern woman!) Meandering lace ribbons and leopard fur trims. This design is inspired by the design of a Rococo silk brocade dress fabric, dating to c. 1760 (no typo!), which is in the collection of the V&A. My version is a bit more modernized concerning coloring (all colors except the rather pale pink) and the look of the leopard parts (which are more stylized on the original). The lace parts are mock-embroidered; that means while they look like embroideries, they are not. This design is also available printed on many other products on Cafepress (http://www.cafepress.com/PhantasmDesigns/10117430?aid=110890528) as well as on Zazzle (http://www.zazzle.com/bonniephantasm/gifts?cg=196412392562858762&rf=238791567683211815)! The actual repeat of the design is, by the way, 23.62in x 22.97inches on fabric and 24x23.34 inches on wallpaper - it's created at 300ppi (pixels per inch) so it can be printed at 300dpi (dots per inch), higher than the usual resolution of 150ppi. That's just so the lace details and fine hairs in the leopard fur don't get lost because of lower resolution. Please also have a look at the 'Test Swatch' size to see the details! I am offering this design in quite a few colors as well as two other, coordinating designs (also in several colors); please have a look at my "Modern Rococo" (http://www.spoonflower.com/collections/21058) collection to see all of them! In case you really need this design in yet another, different color than those I already have created or at a different scale (smaller or even larger!) - don't hesitate to send me a message! ;-) If you were always wondering how different colors print on the various fabrics that Spoonflower offers, please do have a look at my website where I have quite a few comprehensive photos of color swatches printed on various fabrics!
