About the Design

This design is supposed to imitate the 'bubbles' fabric that was used on the sleeves of Padmé's

Travel gown.

This design is supposed to imitate the 'bubbles' fabric that was used on the sleeves of Padmé's Travel gown, as well as the 'plain' color fabric that was used to make the hood. Note that you can best see what I describe from now on if you switch the view between Test swatch (closeup; this is what you initally see when viewing this design), Fat Quarter (a slightly more zoomed out view) and 1 yard (full view just so you can see how the pattern is laid out on the fabric)! To be able to have two different fabric designs on one piece of fabric, I've basically split the fabric in half. So the LEFT side of the fabric will have the 'bubbles' design, and the RIGHT side will have the 'plain' design. This is why in the 'swatch' and 'fat quarter' view, you will ONLY see the 'bubbles' design. The 'plain' colored design can only be seen in the 'yard' view. The overall size of the pattern is very close to that of the original gown and was calculated using proportional measuring of the actresses' real height compared to a full-length photo of the original dress. A coordinating fabric for the cape and cuffs with a large-scale medaillon embroidery, the base of the dress, a 'plain' fabric for the hood as well as a "fans" brocade imitation for the cloak are available at my Spoonflower store (http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/bonnie_phantasm) as well; you can find them easiest by browsing my themed fabric collections (http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/bonnie_phantasm?filter_action=collection&info_action=&nav_action=all&shop_selection=all_collection&sub_action=new_profile), then select the "Travel dress" collection. This fabric, if you want to replicate the original gown, works best in Silk Crepe de Chine. That material is slightly sheer , has a low sheen and drapes beautifully, so it will work best for the sleeves and hood of the dress. The width of the fabric design is laid out for the 40 inches wide Silk Crepe de Chine! So if you decide to have it printed on any other, wider fabric, the design will start to repeat again on the right side. In case you would like this fabric in a different color scheme, don't hesitate to send me a message! If you were always wondering how different colors print on the various fabrics that Spoonflower offers, please do have a look at my website where I have quite a few comprehensive photos of color swatches printed on various fabrics!
