I created these star motifs for family gift certificate cards at Christmas, and they were the first thing I thought of when I saw a Stars and Stripes contest.

The bright blue is more muted on the actual fabric, but still quite nice. It comes through clear on paper.

five star, three star, created and uploaded 2012 (from an earlier design), dot, rosette, ribbon, abstract, pentagram, pentagon, star, stripe, geometric,

fireflower says: Thank you so much, Isabella and Rhonda. I'd been working with the twill-weave pattern for the Geometric contest, but decided I didn't like what I was doing with it there, and put it on the back burner. Then, when I got the ribbon stripe idea for the star motif, I decided to try a twill again, and this time it worked.

rhondadesigns says: These shining star blossoms look delightful as decorations on the bands of ribbon stripes. The yardage view is very eye-catching, Sue Ellen!

inscribed_here says: Your starry motifs are very pretty. This looks especially lovely in yardage view, where the full effect of the strong diagonal can be appreciated.
