design of this weeks Spoonflower themed contest.
When I saw the Spoonflower contest for feathers, my mind instantly flew to birds - the only class of animal that can make them. I love drawing birds, and their unique feather patterns and shapes are part of what make them so much fun to copy! I made all my birds purple, so that the shape of their particular feathers would stand out more. It's amazing how the way a feather is grown and shaped can so drastically affect how a bird looks! I hope you enjoy my entry of these birds of a feather. The original was done with pen and watercolor in my sketchbook, then arranged and edited in photoshop and indesign. Want a custom fabric design?
