grove, so she can feast on berries and cones.
This a handpainted watercolor of the distinct black-capped chickadee. These little birds are lively and entertaining. Such a treat to watch and hear. In the spring and summer they are busy with nest building and foraging for their young. In the winter, this cheery bird is most appreciated as they bring life to an otherwise silent winter with their chick-a-dee calls as they fly from tree to tree. It's a joy to snowshoe in to the woodland, back to the hemlocks, where the branches are filled with chickadees harvesting the seeds from their cones.
