@michalwright on Instagram. Tag me if you sew anything with my design. I'd love to see what you're make. Designed to print on one fat quarter of medium weight fabric, for a sturdy, easy to stuff doll. Note that for fabric wider than 54" there will be a bit of extra fabric on one side. See matching baby/toddler bib and cute kitty repeat pattern. Sewing instructions: 1. Cut all pieces out. Press flat on unprinted side. Pin with right sides together. 2.Sew ears, arms, legs and tail with 1/4” seam allowance, leave openings at markings. Leave ears open on the bottom. Trim curves and turn. 3.Sew tail into back gusset. Sew face gusset. Sew limbs to the body at the markings. Align ears’ bottom edge with flat areas on top of the head. Make sure striped inner ears are towards the cat’s face. Sew straight lines beginning and ending at markings. Fold legs and tail in as shown before the next step. 4. Pin front to back, right sides together. Sew with 1/4“ seam allowance, careful not to catch the limbs in the seam. Leave opening on the bottom. Follow straight lines on head where ears are attached. Clip corners and notch curves. 5. Turn. It’s easiest to pull the arms through first and use them to turn the body. Carefully push curved edges out for body and limbs with a blunt chopstick. 6. Stuff using a chopstick to get filling into tight corners. Close opening with ladder or whip stitch. * Scarf: Fold scarf in half lengthwise, right side folded in. Stitch along entire open edge with 1/4” seam allowance. Turn and press flat. Top stitch along the two parallel vertical lines. Carefully clip along the six short lines on either edge, almost to that seam. Apply fray stopping liquid to the edges, if you’d like. copyright Michal Wright-Ward 2017
