When I was a child my mother pinned colorful fabric hankies to my shirt. They had come from places like Woolworths or Kresges before I was born. They were cheerful and floral, with hints of art deco, or mid century modern themes. I can not explain why my mother did such an odd thing. It isn't like paper tissue packs weren't everywhere. Every other child had those. They looked like the cheerful designs of this graphic, which is why I call it a hankie. (file w34a2, #5864927)
