cassette tapes look really cool to me still, though I can painfully remember hours of dedication to making the perfect mix going awry due to tape eating ghetto blasters. i know there are a few of you out there who share this sentiment. may we stand together and reflect on our eaten tapes and thank the heavens for itunes.

ceanirminger says: This is so super awesome, I can't believe it. You have perfectly captured the agony and the ecstasy of the eighties with this amazingly choreographed bedlam of a pattern. One of my favorites from this mammoth contest for sure!

inscrib...

inscribed_here says: LOL I don't have to think back far to remember those days. I have a tape sitting on my desk right now that looks rather like this. I won't toss it out but I just can't seem to find the motivation to painstakingly wind it back up while hoping it will still play. Great design, Rachel!

babysis...

babysisterrae says: thank you ladies! yeah i'm not loving the entry view, and i contacted them a few days ago about it, but they couldn't see what the problem was, so i guess what you are seeing and what I am (and everyone else) seeing is different from what they are seeing unfortunately. i hope it can be remedied!!

weaving...

weavingmajor says: ha ha! excellent! I remember those days too, and Duran Duran even! <p> but what happened to the entry in the contest? it looks awful - has grey in it - ugh - I'll contact them but you better too!

uzumakijo

uzumakijo says: Yeah proper fantastic retro coolness! I was queen of the cassette tapes, I still have 2 carrier bags full of them stashed under my bed...i don't have a cassette player tho, so they are utterly useless but can't throw them out for sentimental reasons hahahaa!! I particularly loved the way after many plays they would stretch and the music would sound all drony and slowed down hahaa! Love this design Rachel, the twisty tape getting all tangled is truly teriffic!

rhondad...

rhondadesigns says: This is an amazing network of linked lines, Rachel! I am sure that there will be many people who can relate to the tangled tape story. The children at our place were also quite adept at pulling tapes out of the cassettes, then being completely unable to rewind them. Somehow it always seemed to happen to the special "keeper" tapes!
