wore.
, the talented Mexican painter, was a style revolutionary who occasionally dressed in drag but also frequently dressed in elaborate traditional Mexican clothing. She often wore her hair up with ribbons or flowers crowning her head. There are many pictures of Frida and all of them show her strong, proud, beautiful face. Her husband and fellow artist, Diego Rivera, locked away her wardrobe after her death in 1954. The contents of the wardrobe have finally been accessed and exhibited. They include the painted body casts worn by Frida after she under went surgery to correct a horrific injury sustained when she was young. When I viewed some of her outfits I immediately thought it would be fun to design a collection inspired by Frida's wardrobe. I will be posting more designs from the collection as I finish them.
