You will need 2 yards of cotton sateen to make a 12 panel full skirt. 56" wide x2 equals 112" or 3.11111 yards. 3 yards makes a full skirt. Similar to vintage 1950's skirt kits. No pattern needed. Cut and sew each panel together to create a full vintage style skirt. Intended as a 16 panel extra full 180 degree circle skirt. It can be made with 12 panels for a less full skirt. At 42" a yard you will need 4 yards for the full 16 panels. Measure out your waist and cut the top portion of the skirt accordingly. Cut the waistband appox 2-4" longer then your waist. Leave about 1-2" of the border on the band to iron and sew. Sew the waistband to the skirt. Recommended fabrics: Organic Cotton Sateen, Performance Piqué, & Modern Jersey Fabric to avoid: Cotton poplin (appears grey)
