By day I am an upstanding mosaic designer for New Ravenna Mosaics on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. By night I am a superdork drawing whatever weird things pop into my head. By morning I'm exhausted.

upcycle...

upcyclepatch says: Love these - perfect size for me - can applique onto a T-Shirt and do a matching finger puppet - a FQ is in my shopping basket for next time I order. I love that the they are adorable but not "cute".

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Thanks guys! And ms. corona, there are a lot of finger puppets here, and as a bonus, not one of these guys is rabid!

ms_corona

ms_corona says: Wow, dozens of finger puppets - by the yard! It's wonderful. The perfect woodland creatures for the winning woodland creatures forest!

lulakiti

lulakiti says: Yeah, I'd say you were robbed too! :) But then again, what do you expect from a bunch of little furry thieves? :) Seriously though - a lovely design - even small!!!

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Thanks for the vote of confidence, Victoria. I personally like these guys, but they can be hard to see in a thumbnail, and a bit of an optical brain twister in a yard view, I think.

victorialasher says: I can not believe this didn't finish in the top ten!

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Thank you, Jo and Thatswho! We're rock loving people in my family too, Jo (I have a suspicion my father's best friend is a rock), they just aren't as cuddly as a nice squirrel or woodpecker, though they probably tie a log, snake or beehive for squeezability.

thatswho says: Wonderful! Can't help but smile.

uzumakijo

uzumakijo says: ridicuously cute cean, i love the expressions on their adorable little faces, and the array of interesting items they are holding...nothing wrong with a rock, i myself am quite partial to a rock (they even featured in my desert design) and have a large collection, so don't feel bad cute little rock holding racoon guy.....rocks are cool too!...maybe not as cuddly as the squirrel or fox (awww) but definitely an interesting accessory!!! love the repeat too....i also agree with drea, i'd love to see them as finger puppets!

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Yikes! I'm so behind on thanking you all! I've been spending all of my SF time going through all of these amazing entries this go round. I'm really floored by all of your talent and thank you all for your sweet comments on this raccoon platoon. I set a personal goal for this one to make a gender neutral, non directional pattern, and to finally pull out my watercolors and do something with them, so viola. Thinking up all of the fodder for their hands proved harder than I thought, hence that poor guy who got a rock (Charlie Brown would empathize). Thanks all!

pattysloniger says: So funny! Love their little expressions, especially the one who's barely holding on to that rock. I want to turn my monitor upside down too!

babysis...

babysisterrae says: really clever and quirky...just great!

victori...

victorialasher says: The fox looks quite content; but the squirrel and the owl look terrified and the woodpecker looks somewhat concerned. Also I feel a bit sorry for the poor little guy who picked up the bee hive; I'm sure he's regretting that. Fascinating fabric; I might have to turn my monitor over so I can get a better look at the upside down row.

weaving...

weavingmajor says: oh, help! they look so adorably sad. As if every one of them were promising me that they would smile, really, if only I bought a yard or two of fabric. But they won't, that lineup of little thieves, who have gone and stolen my heart....
