Thank you for the heads up, audsbodkin! How my fabric made it into an interview with an author I have no idea, but it's crazy exciting to know it did! Thank you also jesb, and joyful roots, I'm way behind on reading and commenting on my comments and just wanted you all to realize how much I appreciate them. You are the best!

Thanks so much everyone! I love my dress and I'm gad so many of you do at well. I hope it inspires you all to make something a little out of the ordinary.
Sorry dhawktx it's not Hetalia (although I see it now that you mention it) it's just a dress.
My friend Teal and I adore all your fabric, between us I think we'll end up buying one of everything. I defiantly want to pick up Firebird when I get the money together, and I'm already thinking about what I'd like to do with Tree Party.

hi everybody! I was out of town this weekend and came back to find all of these lovely comments waiting for me. It's like Christmas. This fabric is one I am actually a bit proud of, mostly because it took such an insanely long time to do and then clean the glue off of, so it feels very sweet that others lie it too. Thanks so much for everything. And Saltlabs, I think I'll name my sheep Baa-bra Woolters.

this is so well done. it doesn't look "scary" to me, but rather somber and thoughtful. And also like an old, old fairytale illustration, back before Disney got a hold of the fairy tales. I love it. No ideas what I'd do with it as fabric, but as art it's really stunning.

Thank you, ms_sad, almost_midnight and raebekah, (and everyone else I haven't thanked by name, I'm sorry I'm so slow)! The white bear is from the scandinavian fairy tale "East of the Sun, West of the Moon". That and the Russian tale of Baba Yaga technically don't belong in a German forest, but I figured that since her house has chicken legs, and since polar bears are mobile, too, they both just kind of ended up there. ( I'm rewriting folk tales to suit my needs here). Thanks so much for your great comments and interest, everyone, and I'll stop here before I go into the historical importance of folk tales as morality lessons, cautionary tales, etc etc, yadda yadda. (I'm geeking up this page quick).

Ooh, this is very cool, chilling even. The colors are perfect for the subject matter. I like how effectively you have the leaves serve double duty as both the forest floor and it's canopy. I know all the others but I'm trying without success to remember where the bear is from.

When my daughter was born, I started a scrapbook - I got through the first 2 weeks. It is still sitting in the coffee table drawer (which is especially funny since we have moved across country and back since that time with the scrapbook still in the table). I have several perfect boxes of pictures though... sigh. Digital cameras have made photo albums very daunting for me - there are just too many pictures!

I hear you, lulakiti. I have a pile of my daughter's pictures sitting, waiting for that perfect album.... In my heart I know they will just stay in that perfect box.

ADHD! That's awesome - and makes me laugh! That is totally the reason that I have never been able to do scrapbooking or the like. If I did, I would take it to a disturbing level. In fact, I haven't even put any of my daughter's pictures in a photo album since she was 2... she's 6 now... but that is just laziness.
