Description:

In a costume based on the design by Leon Bakst, for the Ballet Russe production of Cleopatra.

I asked Lucie to pose for for me in one of the costumes from the Ballet Russe production of The Rite of Spring but... she arrived at the studio in full Cleopatra mode. Saying that it was "just too boring to dress as a peasant... and wouldn't I prefer this?!"

Well, how could I refuse? As Lucie says "Why dress as a peasant when you can dress as a queen?"!

Of course I have now arranged for Gussie to sit for me - as Fourth peasant from the left!

Lucie made her debut appearance on a pencil roll, so did her boyfriend Gussie. They appeared together on a rainbow striped pillowcase. We then went back in time and saw her grandmother Greta as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard with her boyfriend Gustav as Max, her chauffeur. Greta took to the Apres Ski - but not the skiing. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this talented family! To see the family in their full glory: Goosey Goosey Gander

Use this as a panel in a quilt or for a cushion! To see all sorts of co-ordinates for Lucie in her Cleopatra costume - including quilts and scarves - go to: Spring Quilt

rhondadesigns says: I am in awe of the talent and virtuosity of this flighty queen of goosey drama! (And, incidentally, of the creative genius who interprets her various roles and performances!) Thank you, Moira, for allowing her far-flung fan-base to share these glimpses into Lucie's glamorous world! ;-)

moirarae says: HI Sue Ellen, I am so pleased you like the flying geese, also for the lovely vote of confidence on the prints - all three of them. As for Lucie - well she most definitely knows what she likes, and how to wear it!

fireflower says: I love the Flying Geese borders! How à propos! The cherry blossom print is beautiful, and will also make a super coordinate, as will the gold and aqua prints. How kind of Lucie to show up in something so "design-ogenic" (since no cameras were involved ;-) )!
