Description:

Based on a Victorian theme, this design is derived from absinthe spoons and arranged in the manner of Victorian ceramic tiles.

This design is part of my 'Fine and Dandy' collection, all based on a Victorian theme, using items and patterns of the era and moderised by using photographic and digital imagery in parts. This particular design is derived from photographs I took of absinthe spoons (I have a large collection - best not to ask haha!!) they were then turned into silhouettes and coloured according to my chosen palette. The images were then arranged in the manner of patterns found on Victorian ceramic tiles! This design is in an 'Aged' colourway, other colourways are available.

uzumakijo says: Thankyou for your comment MagentaRose, I must admit to having partaken of Absinthe back in my younger wilder days haha! Not so much now I have a family, a business and am studying for my MA! But I am really drawn to that ritual and the decadence of the Aesthetic Movement and the Victorian excesses, so this is just my little nod to that whole scene.

magentarosedesigns says: Such a special ritual, so quintessentially English, the etiquette of Absinthe drinking deserves a special design and you have achieved that Uzumakijo. I have read much about the etiquette, but never actually tried Absinthe. I love the design of your Absinthe spoons and the elegant colour scheme, good luck in the contest!
