of torn paper. This fabric design is the result!
This batik-like design is available in other color combinations, scaled smaller or larger, or as a horizontal pattern upon request. This is a fun design for any home decor project, or a shirt, skirt, sundress, or children's clothes made from one of Spoonflower's fabulous cottons, or a midi dress sewn with Spoonflower's Modern Jersey Knit or Woven Silky Faille. The pattern is also perfect for scarves/infinity scarves created with Spoonflower's Fill-A-Yard Project. Select the Flowing Totem Collection link, on the collections page select Start Designing, then follow the directions for Fill-A-Yard for a contrasting 1-yard scarf or a Fill-A-Project for a contrasting 2-yard infinity scarf. As a professional photographer, much of my time is spent photographing objects with different lighting effects and filters in my home studio. Even simple items can take on an ethereal quality when photographed in this way. The Flowing Totem Collection was inspired by my photo series created from shooting hanging strips of torn paper under a variety of light and filter combinations. Uploaded into Adobe Photoshop, I took the original photographs further and created the final ebb and flow fabric designs. The abstract stripes and lines repeat, but each has its own unique characteristics. The finished product reminded me of--totems!
