About the Design

Ink drawn design represents the designs from the Bamana people of Mali. Done in red resist, it is

believed to absorb threatening spiritual forces!

The background of this red design has a batik texture which adds to the historical look of the fabric. #Palifino About this design for me as the designer: For me this design has almost a Cherokee Indian vibe to it. When I was in the Campfire girls as a kid, the cross, arrows, mean something. The M is a mountain. The diamonds are paths. So for me this is the mountain you climb, the path you take pointing to the Great Spirit. The circle is the union of spirits you join in your life, pointing toward the Great Spirit. The little bands on the side of the design to me mean openness; to not be bound by anything, but be free to have faith in whatever it is that makes you feel joy.
