About the Design

The other day, a local college station that I was listening to played the 1969 recording "Yoo Doo Right" by Can. I had previously heard of the composition, and band, but had never actually heard either of them until then. Surprisingly, it worked rather well mixed between the usual college rock fare the station plays. It seemed to go on and on forever, and just when you thought it was over, it started up again. What that song (which isn't really a song--more of an improv chant) has to do with this design, is a combination of complexity and and old times. As I was sitting here, trying to figure out what I could say about these twisting vines and paisley curls, that song came into my head and refused to leave. Clearly the old time Victorian etching style and the old time progressive rock were conspiring to cast a spell on me. So I present these dark red and white hexagons, diagonal squares, flowers, and background dots to you in the spirit of that voodoo that art and music can do. (file z174d2-ch, #3764241) The boring fine print (that is actually the same size as all the other print): The size (scale) you see displayed in all Spoonflower offerings is actually only a suggestion. In my case it is the size I personally wanted for my eight inch proof of the design. Because this is custom printing designs can be made in any (technically possible and reasonable looking) size. You can even order the same design in two sizes, such as a yard of big and a yard of small, to use together. This does take communication and co-ordination with the artist. But do not think that the scale you see on the screen is the only way the design comes. If you need tiny and the design is big, or you need smaller, you can buy a design you like that way.
