About the Design

PLEASE NOTE THIS DESIGN HAS BEEN UPDATED VERY SLIGHTLY - HE NOW HAS A RED COLLAR & the design is

SMALLER! July 2015

This one is for Celia, who has a new La Mancha goat called - yes, you guessed it - Sammy! This design came from an idle thought... "I wonder if Don Quixote had a goat?"! Yes, tilted windmills, La Mancha crosses and last of all a bright golden barbers bowl of sunshine - just like Don Quixote's helmet! With a quick reference to Cervantes: Who tells us, in his novel Don Quixote de la Mancha, of a barber who was caught in the rain, and to protect his hat clapped his brazen basin on his head. Don Quixote insisted that this basin was the enchanted pure gold helmet of the Moorish king Mambrino which, according to legend, rendered its wearer invulnerable.
