My Kintsugi fabric series was inspired by the latest designer trends based on the ancient Japanese art form of Kintsukuroi—mending broken pottery pieces with lacquer and gold to create something new and magnificent. The main idea of this restoration process is to bring beauty and new strength to something that was once shattered. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. In keeping with this principle, I designed patterns that when brought together, created an effect that was greater than any of the layers alone. Hopefully you will find these prints a perfect addition to your modern wardrobe or home interior. This Kintsugi series features three different pattern versions, and each lends itself to a wide variety of fabrics that can be used for men’s and women’s fashion as well as an array of home decor projects. Any print is available in other color combinations, or scaled smaller or larger upon request, and I can provide you with a 100% matching solid color fabric to complement any of the colors.
