Swirly, curly paisleys on art nouveau inspired stems twist in and out of the harsh diagonal zig zag angles that combine to form a checkerboard series of diamonds and borders in this pink and green abstract. What is at work here is the contrast between angles and curves. This pattern is a whole world of art nouveau curves except they are overlaid with straight and narrow lines. Add some batting and stitches and this could easily become a cheater quilt, though I would never ever cheat anyone. With no decorative stitching and stuffing, it would still make a nice fabric for any kind of application where you look at it from a distance such as a curtain, bedspread, or tablecloth.
