to the quilt world as we know it.
You may be familiar with Ruby Short McKim’s quilt and needlework designs. She is widely recognized for her body of work, as well as for her book "One Hundred and One Patchwork Patterns" published in 1931. Her quilt pattern series were syndicated in newspapers all over the country–weekly or monthly. We have an original color sketch by Grammy where she worked out the color scheme for Item #447 Tidy Ann and Doll Quilt, which was offered in some of the old Designs Worth Doing Catalogs. For 25¢ you could buy the Tidy Ann Doll and get the Doll Quilt Top for free. Grammy used the Doll Quilt designs years later, 1933, adding stars as quilting patterns for alternate blocks for a larger quilt aptly named "Toy Shop Window".
