"The Germ of All Life is Electricity" says this November 1910 advertisement from the pages of The Ladies' World magazine. And who am I to disagree? But whether this hairbrush cures dandruff, prevents baldness, and causes hair to grow--uhm. First let's figure out exactly what about this bristle brush is electric, and why a compass, that they say will come with the brush, will prove it is electric. Compasses detect magnetism, not electricity. Seems the only electrical property the brush could possibly possess is the ability to attract static electricity. Does static electricity really prevent baldness? You be the judge. (file wz291b, #7917857)
