Mythology. More details....
This cut and sew doll is based on an actual goddess of protection, pleasure, the sun, and moon. Cats are sacred to her and to harm one is very unlucky. She celebrates life with music, dance, joy and love. Her three kitten companions embody the Sun God Ra, the Moon God Konso and the Star God Nut. (A summary of this goddess is included on the print.) . The blue fabric is for a small kitten pouch. Her amulet symbols stand for her name, Bastet. She has a Magical Mouse wand because it makes her happy. This can be sewn to her hand or left separate. Little fishes in de-Nile swim on her skirt. The background hieroglyphics read "Cats Rule"...as if you didn't know! . This fits a fat quarter of the 54 inch wide fabrics, but I HIGHLY recommend the soft fleece! The organic cotton sateen is also nice. The minky is cuddly, but more of a challenge to sew and can be tricky with the curves. There is a product called Wonder Tape that can help with this and many videos out there to show how easy it is to use it. . Be sure to check out the accompanying Papyrus Cats print! In Minky, it will make a cuddly blanket to accompany Bastet. I hope you enjoy this hand drawn work loaded with details and even the papyrus background is my original. Thank you for viewing. . A special thanks to my two cats for patiently waiting for me to finish this...so they could have the attention they deserve. . Bastet has her own page now at www.designedbydebby.com! Please share your photos! . This design has a FREE printable gift card to coordinate for gift giving!!! www.designedbydebby.com/free-card-templates (Cause I'm nice ♥ like that.)
