The Tainos were a native people of the island of Puerto Rico, as well as other parts of the Caribbean. Their legacy to modern people comes in the form of petroglyphs, or rock carvings, that were found at various archeological sites on the island. Students of these symbols only guess at what they might represent, but this one seems to represent a bird. Rather than a rooster, which is also a bird prevalent in Puerto Rico, I chose to interpret this as a Puerto Rican Parrot.
