About the Design

This design contains models for some of the polyhedra within the set of archimedean solids. It's only set up to work on a fat quarter of a flimsy fabric. To assemble the models: cut out each one leaving a seam allowance around the printed area, make creases along the colour boundaries and sew the obvious darts between shapes first. Then the rest of the folding and stitching should become obvious. Include a ribbon or strip of spare blank fabric in one seam if you want to be able to hang the model as a bauble. The 5 platonic solids or polyhedra are each composed of just one regular polygon type; whereas the archimedean ones are allowed a mixture of regular polygons as long as all the vertices are identical. This particular subset is the transitions between the cube (hexahedron) and octahedron. Currently displaying a version in shades of red and green (both ways). Other colours, stylings, sizes and orientations are available on request and you can even ask for a custom mixture of designs. … See my profile index or tags for similar designs: • polyhedron (http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/sef?shop_selection=tag&tag=polyhedron) • cutandsew (http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/sef?shop_selection=tag&tag=cutandsew)
