This week's winning design will be licensed by apparel company, Betabrand, to manufacture cool clothes for gamers! You chose the top ten, and Betabrand selected one of the semi-finalists, Pixel Pinstripe by Jenny Welch of California, to up the ante for geek fashion. It's always exciting to see our community take the leap into the professional world. Congrats to Jenny and the rest of the top ten!

Details

8-Bit Fit Challenge is a contest to design a print inspired by 8-bit style graphics that will be manufactured to produce pant patterns for gamers for Betabrand, one of the leading producers of innovative apparel for men and women. The contest winner will receive a contract offer accompanied by a $500 advance against royalties, and all of the top ten designers will receive $100 in Spoondollar credit. The voting previews will be shown at the fat quarter fabric size (21" x 18"). The design deadline is July 30, 2013. Sponsors will select 400 competition designs from the pool of entries to move on to the semifinalist round. Semifinalist voting will take place August 1 - August 7, 2013. The top ten designs and the winner will be announced on August 8, 2013.

  • Designs will be viewed as a Fabric on the voting ballot. Acceptable repeat options for this challenge are Basic, Half-Drop, Half-Brick, Mirror, Center.
  • Public designs previously uploaded on Spoonflower.com are not eligible for this contest. Designs do not require printed proofing to enter the contest.
  • The popular vote determines the top 10 winning designs. Voters include Spoonflower artists and customers as well as the public.
