Description:

Standard 36-spoke bicycle wheels, with the usual triple-cross linkage, reduced to silhouette form in 2 layers arranged for p3m1 plane symmetry.

... go round and round.

These are standard 36-spoke bicycle wheels, with the usual triple-cross linkage but reduced to silhouette form, constructed to scale (from my own bicycle) and then carefully oriented and positioned on a regular triangle/hexagon lattice in two interleaved layers (as per hexagonal close packing) for p3m1 plane symmetry.

Currently displaying a version in 2 shades of grey on white.

sef says: The different fabric types have different widths (and I can adjust the design somewhat to fit a specific one). If you "Choose a Fabric" to the right of the design image and then "Choose a Size & Amount" to be a yard, it should tell you what the width is and show you how the design will look on that. Alternatively you can refer to the Spoonflower page listing the fabrics: http://help.spoonflower.com/customer/portal/articles/998436-what-can-i-buy-at-spoonflower-

sef says: Larger! Smaller! It's like Alice in Wonderland round here. ;-)

It's a shame we can't let each of you change the settings for yourselves, without the aid of magic mushrooms.

redbird423 says: Is it possible to get this fabric in a smaller scale? Like the blue colored wheels? I would really like this colorway in that size if possible. Thank you!

sef

sef says: Yes, I do have a much larger image, just under 14" across by 24" (ie like real bicycle wheels!), which was originally displaying in the inverse version slot using some colours someone else wanted (but then apparently abandoned). This file has the scope to be sized down to anything in between its full size and the smaller size.

marywbullard says: Is it possible to get this fabric in a larger version of the same print? I would like to make a duvet cover for my son's bed with it, so would like the wheel design to be larger if possible.

sef says: It's a little like the citrus slice design (orange, lemon and lime with a few strawberries tossed in) I hand painted on a T-shirt a couple of decades back. I was being a bit literal in making the wheels grey like metal. The colours could of course be pretty much anything. But then it would be necessary to alter that colour table too ... ;-)

su_g says: A lovely classic design, looks even better - if possible - in yardage. Lots of applications and so professionally presented with the color values set out like that.
